Nam Dinh: Connecting to bring Vietnamese goods into the distribution system
Trade promotion activities for Vietnamese products, OCOP products, industrial and handicraft products, potential and strong products of localities in Nam Dinh province are increasingly improved in both scale and quality, gradually affirming the position and role of supporting enterprises, cooperatives, production and business establishments to develop and access the market.

Responding to the campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", in the past 3 years, the Department of Industry and Trade of Nam Dinh province has successfully built 2 fixed "Vietnamese points of sale" in Nam Dinh city.
Over 70% of the products sold at “Vietnamese Points of Sale” are manufactured by enterprises in Nam Dinh province, many of which have achieved famous OCOP certifications such as: Toan Xuan clean rice; Ninh Co and Lam Bao fish sauce; clean salt, medicinal salt; Hung Vuong seafood; Minh Duong dried agricultural products; Nam Cuong and Ngoc Anh fresh vegetables; Linh Phat edible mushrooms and medicinal mushrooms... In addition to local products, “Vietnamese Points of Sale” also introduce and sell famous specialties from regions across the country.
In order to continue promoting the effectiveness of the "Vietnamese Point of Sale" model, the Department of Industry and Trade of Nam Dinh province will continue to review and select to build more Vietnamese points of sale in localities in the province, especially in rural areas, to help people buy Vietnamese goods with guaranteed quality and reasonable prices. At the same time, support businesses in the province to promote domestic trade, improve the quality of products and services. Thereby, stimulating consumption, developing the distribution system of Vietnamese goods; creating the image, reputation and trust of consumers in domestically produced goods.
In addition, promoting the role as the standing agency of the Steering Committee of the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods", every year, the Standing Committee of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dinh province has developed plans to propagate and mobilize people of all walks of life to prioritize using goods produced by domestic enterprises; coordinate with media agencies to strengthen propaganda work on the Campaign; coordinate propaganda to implement the program "One Commune One Product" (OCOP)... For example, Nam Dinh province has selected 2 products: Northern sticky rice and Nghia Binh red dragon brown rice to exchange and introduce at the "Safe Countryside Market" organized by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union in Hai Phong city; Select 9 agricultural and food products that have achieved 3-star and 4-star OCOP standards to participate in the "Safe Rural Market" association... Maintain 6 safe agricultural product stores in Hai Hau, Truc Ninh, Giao Thuy, Xuan Truong districts and Nam Dinh city, which are places to propagate, promote, introduce, and connect the consumption of reputable agricultural products.
The effectiveness of the Campaign has helped cooperatives and enterprises in the province to be more fully aware of the rights and responsibilities of cooperatives and enterprises for the socio-economic development of the province in the context of international integration and competition in the market mechanism.
At the same time, production and business establishments have aimed to produce market products with chain linkages to increase added value and competitiveness of products; promote potential strengths to penetrate the market; be more proactive in business; focus on building product brands, innovating technology to produce many high-quality products at reasonable prices, bringing successful products to consumers.
Promote trade
In addition to coordinating and effectively implementing the Campaign "Vietnamese people prioritize using Vietnamese goods" in the province, in recent times, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion (Department of Industry and Trade of Nam Dinh) has implemented many activities to support businesses in participating in key fairs and exhibitions under the National Trade Promotion Program; export-oriented fairs, specialized fairs, markets bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas and organizing trade delegations of the province to attend conferences connecting supply and demand of goods in provinces and cities in the country.
Statistics show that in 2023, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion of Nam Dinh province supported about 300 enterprises; cooperatives; production and business establishments to participate in 16 exhibition fairs, 4 supply and demand connection programs in provinces and cities in the country. The province's product display booths attracted a large number of customers to visit, shop and try the products.
Through exhibitions, Vietnamese goods markets, supply-demand connection conferences, products such as mechanical machinery, handicrafts, wooden handicrafts and especially agricultural products and processed foods of the province have gradually won the trust of consumers. Many systems of agents and product distribution have been opened and developed well in provinces and cities such as: Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Hung Yen, Dak Nong... At the same time, they are distributed to a number of foreign supermarkets such as AEON (Japan), Lotte Mart (Korea), a number of clean food store chains; Area for displaying, selling and introducing safe agricultural products of Lao Cai province; Area for displaying and introducing safe agricultural products and foods in many provinces and cities nationwide.
It can be seen that trade promotion activities have created opportunities for businesses, cooperatives, production and trading establishments of agricultural products to meet, exchange, connect, find partners, sign trade agreements, consume products, build distribution channels, and develop product consumption markets.
Based on these results, in 2024, the Department of Industry and Trade of Nam Dinh province will continue to innovate and promote the implementation of diverse and flexible forms of trade promotion, expanding domestic and foreign markets for key local products. In particular, focusing on the application of digital technology to serve trade promotion. Continuing to mobilize resources and support from the Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) and international organizations and partners to promote the implementation of technical assistance programs, improve the capacity of officials and the business community.
At the same time, support businesses, cooperatives, production and trading establishments in market information, brand building; training in trade promotion skills, trade civilization, business management to meet international integration requirements...
