Vietnamese Businesses Catch the Integration Wave at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024
Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024, the international goods supply chain connectivity event, successfully concluded in Ho Chi Minh City, attracting the attention of 600 Vietnamese businesses and 300 international distribution channels and purchasing delegations from 60 countries and territories. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee from June 6 to 8, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).
Supporting Vietnamese businesses in deep and broad integration
The main goal of Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 is to support Vietnamese businesses in grasping the trend of international economic integration and participating more deeply in the global production and supply chain.
Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang emphasized that despite facing many difficulties and challenges, with the efforts of the Government, the business community, and international support, the Vietnamese economy still achieved positive results.
In 2023, Vietnam's total import-export turnover reached over 681 billion USD. Exports to markets with Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) recovered strongly, reaching 230.5 billion USD, accounting for nearly 65% of total export turnover.

Viet Nam International Sourcing 2024 offers many practical activities to support Vietnamese businesses in connecting with international partners:
- Export Forum: A place to exchange and share experiences on consumer trends, supply chain restructuring, cross-border e-commerce, etc.
- Specialized seminars: Focusing on the fields of agriculture, food, textiles, and furniture.
- Trade connection: Creating opportunities to meet and exchange directly with international distributors and buyers.
- Exhibition: Displaying and introducing products and services of Vietnamese enterprises
The potential Middle Eastern market
This year's event attracted special attention from buyers from the Middle Eastern market. Mr. Mirash Basheer, Director of May Exports Vietnam, Lulu Group International, emphasized the potential of Vietnamese Halal products in the Gulf countries.
According to Mr. Mirash Basheer, Vietnam has many high-quality Halal products that suit the tastes of Middle Eastern consumers. Through Lulu Group's system of 267 hypermarkets, Vietnamese products can reach millions of potential customers.
