Connecting Vietnamese products at the modern distribution system Central Retail
On July 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) coordinated with Central Retail Vietnam Group to organize the program "Connection Week and space to introduce Vietnamese products at the modern distribution system of Central Retail Vietnam in 2024".

The event takes place until July 22, at GO! supermarket, 99 Nguyen Thi Thap, Tan Phu ward, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City.
The highlight of the Week is the space to display and introduce hundreds of products in fields such as: Packaged and processed foods (tea, coffee, spices, confectionery); agricultural products (rice, vegetables, tubers, fruits, prioritizing organic products) ... of more than 30 enterprises, with potential to supply domestic distribution channels and export.
Thailand is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in ASEAN with a total two-way trade turnover of approximately 20 billion USD in 2023, striving to reach 25 billion USD in 2025. At the same time, Thailand is also the 9th largest foreign investor in Vietnam with 735 projects worth 14 billion USD. In the first 6 months of 2024, the total import-export turnover between Vietnam and Thailand is estimated to reach 9.5 billion USD, of which Vietnam's export turnover to Thailand is 3.9 billion USD.
Ho Chi Minh City has always actively participated in the process of international economic integration and sustainable development based on growth model innovation, economic restructuring, application of science and technology and innovation. In the first 6 months of 2024, the city's import-export turnover reached 50.1 billion USD, up 8.2% over the same period in 2023, of which export turnover reached 22.6 billion USD, up 13% and import turnover reached 27.5 billion USD, up 4.6%.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Ho Thi Quyen - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Trade and Investment Promotion said: The program is expected to bring Vietnamese branded products to domestic and international consumers through the Central Retail supermarket chain system. The Organizing Committee has selected 40 businesses out of nearly 100 registered applications to display and introduce products.
In addition, within the framework of the Week, there is also a Program to Connect Vietnamese Enterprises to bring goods to the Central Retail supermarket chain with the participation of more than 100 enterprises. Here, the product line leaders of Central Retail Vietnam will evaluate and select products to bring into the distribution system, in order to meet the diverse needs of customers and improve the quality of shopping services at the group's supermarket chains.
Ms. Ho Thi Quyen emphasized that through this program, ITPC hopes to create opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to continue to grow, improve product quality and expand consumption markets, not only domestically but also internationally, thereby increasing competitiveness and affirming the position of Vietnamese products globally./.
