Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025: Strengthening Global Partnerships, Accelerating Exports, and Expanding Tourism Linkages
As global trade continues to face complex fluctuations, Viet Nam remains steadfast in its strategy to diversify markets, products, and supply channels to safeguard and enhance its position in the international economic landscape. One of the key instruments supporting this strategic direction is the annual “Viet Nam International Sourcing” series, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in cooperation with the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee since 2023.
In 2025, the event is elevated to a new level of scale and impact through its integrated format—bringing together the Viet Nam International Sourcing & Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum and the Ho Chi Minh City International Travel Expo (ITE HCMC 2025). This comprehensive multi-sector platform is expected to generate strong spillover effects for trade, exports, tourism, and the wider national economy.
A Strategic Platform for Supply Chain Connectivity and Export Expansion
According to the Foreign Market Development Agency (MOIT), the Viet Nam International Sourcing series has proved highly effective in supporting Vietnamese enterprises to access new markets, strengthen linkages with global distributors, and participate more deeply in international supply chains. The event is an important activity in the implementation of the Government-approved Scheme on “Promoting Vietnamese Enterprises’ Direct Participation in Overseas Distribution Networks by 2030” (Decision No. 1415/QĐ-TTg dated 14 November 2022).
For the 2025 edition, more than 300 buyer delegations from 60 countries and territories are expected to attend, with strong coordination from over 60 Viet Nam Trade Offices worldwide. At the exhibition, international buyers will explore more than 12,000 products showcased in 500 booths by over 400 Vietnamese companies, covering four key sectors:
Agriculture, food, and beverages
Processed foods
Consumer industrial goods such as textiles, footwear, wood and furniture, packaging
Supporting industries and consumer electronics
In addition, approximately 3,000 direct B2B engagement sessions will be arranged through the event’s online registration system—providing Vietnamese exporters with concrete opportunities to meet global distributors, retail groups, and large-scale purchasing organizations.
Expanding Market Access and Leveraging FTA Advantages
The 2025 event will attract not only long-established partners such as the United States, the European Union, Japan, and the Republic of Korea, but also rapidly emerging markets including the Middle East, Latin America, South Asia, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. This broadened geographic coverage reflects Viet Nam’s efforts to diversify export destinations, reduce market concentration risks, and maximize opportunities created by the country’s network of free trade agreements (FTAs).
By accessing new regions and engaging with a wider array of international buyers, Vietnamese enterprises can build greater resilience against global supply chain disruptions, tariff uncertainties, and shifting consumer preferences.
A Key Highlight of 2025: Integrating Trade, Export Promotion, and Tourism
For the first time, Viet Nam International Sourcing will be held concurrently with the Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum and ITE HCMC 2025—the only tourism expo in Viet Nam featuring an international Hosted Buyer Program.
ITE HCMC, recognized as “Asia’s Best Trade Show” at the 2024 World MICE Awards, serves as a crucial platform for promoting Viet Nam as an attractive and dynamic tourism destination. The integrated organization of these three major events creates powerful synergies:
Export-oriented enterprises can showcase their products and secure new purchasing agreements.
Tourism businesses can leverage an expanded international audience to strengthen partnerships with global travel firms.
Local governments and destinations gain an opportunity to present their culture, products, and investment potential to international media and business communities.
This strategic linkage between trade and tourism enhances national branding and unlocks broader economic opportunities for Viet Nam.
Bringing International Buyers Closer to Viet Nam’s Production Ecosystems
To deepen international buyers’ understanding of Viet Nam’s capabilities, the Organizing Committee will coordinate with localities to arrange field trips to manufacturing facilities, processing zones, industrial parks, and raw-material areas, combined with curated cultural and tourism experiences.
These tailored programs enable buyers to assess production capacity, supply reliability, and product quality firsthand—helping build long-term cooperation grounded in transparency and mutual trust.
