The Ministry of Industry and Trade has announced that in early September, major corporations from Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Taiwan will travel to Viet Nam to seek high-quality suppliers.

Vietnamese coconut products are increasingly sought after by Chinese retail systems.

These enterprises will come to Ho Chi Minh City to participate in the Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 (VIS 2025) series from 4–6 September, with the aim of sourcing high-quality Vietnamese goods.

Among the most notable is Pagoda Group (BGY Fruits)—China’s leading fresh fruit retail chain with over 5,000 stores in more than 180 cities—which considers Viet Nam a strategic sourcing destination. Its key target products include durian, aromatic coconut, banana, dragon fruit and jackfruit.

The group is actively expanding its sourcing operations in Viet Nam, seeking long-term partnerships to help standardise growing areas and develop premium fruit product lines.

Along the border region, companies from Yunnan and Guangxi have registered interest in durian, longan, coffee, tea and cashew nuts, with expectations for stable supply and transparent traceability so these products can be directly distributed through China’s domestic retail systems.

Chinese Distributors Eye Vietnamese F&B Products

The F&B category is also drawing attention from reputable Chinese and Taiwanese distributors. Companies such as Elom Group, Chi Cheng Food and Gu Gang from Taiwan have requested dedicated B2B sessions with Vietnamese manufacturers.

A standout among them is Elom Group, which has nearly 30 years of experience distributing Southeast Asian goods in Taiwan. The company operates a 106,000 ft² warehouse in Taoyuan, its own transportation fleet and a multi-channel distribution network covering supermarkets, convenience stores, e-commerce and a modern delivery system offering 24–48 hour service across the island.

Another major player, Liang Zhi Long (China), represents an integrated F&B supply chain model: trend-based menu R&D, upstream food sourcing, cold-chain logistics, door-to-door delivery and financial services for restaurant chains. Its ecosystem is backed by over 30 cold storage centres totalling around 200,000 m², the OWTE digital platform for real-time order, temperature and location tracking, and a network linking 10,000 food manufacturers with 20,000 restaurant partners.

In Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the Infinitus ecosystem and related enterprises in fruit, consumer goods and nutrition/functional foods are seeking high-standard Vietnamese products suitable for multi-channel O2O (online–offline) distribution.

“These enterprises are expected to become the ‘runways’ enabling Vietnamese F&B products to accelerate not only in the Chinese domestic market but also in neighbouring markets,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasised.

Diversified Demand: From Food to Household Goods

In addition, Rui Wei Group (Shenzhen) has presented a diverse sourcing portfolio, ranging from food, beverages and fresh fruit to footwear, household goods, furniture and home appliances.

In Hong Kong, Viet Kwong and Hapro Trading, along with dozens of other companies, function as multi-category food distributors serving the wider regional market.

Meanwhile, 313 Wealth and Jiang Men Meng are searching for dairy and nutrition products, cashews, sauces and seasonings. This network forms a gateway for Vietnamese goods to enter mainland China while also accessing Chinese-speaking markets globally, leveraging Hong Kong’s flexible distribution hub.

Along the Taipei–Taoyuan axis, ELOM Group is working in synergy with Gu Gang, Chi Cheng, Jin Mao and others as a bridge connecting Southeast Asian products to Taiwan. Notably, beyond distribution, ELOM provides 360° marketing, KOL campaigns, POSM and sampling activities, which help build Vietnamese brand visibility both in-store and across digital platforms.

Strong Demand for Industrial and Water-Control Equipment

According to the Viet Nam Trade Office in Beijing, numerous Chinese enterprises in the water valve and flow-control equipment industry will also visit Ho Chi Minh City in September. These include Da Yang, Zi Xin, Tan Hua, Khai Chinh, Tian Qian, and technology-driven companies such as Duo Meng and Henan Tan Hua.

These firms are seeking cooperation in water valves, flow-control technology and related equipment, and are looking for partners such as water plants, wastewater treatment facilities and supporting-industry manufacturers in Viet Nam with high market standards and stable supply chains.

Preparing to Enter a Market of 1.4 Billion Consumers

To seize these opportunities and gain access to the massive Chinese market of over 1.4 billion people, the Ministry of Industry and Trade advises Vietnamese enterprises to prepare:

  • Comprehensive capability profiles

  • Quality and certification standards

  • Suitable delivery and logistics plans

With the arrival of this wave of major Chinese corporations, VIS 2025 is shaping up to be a turning point for Vietnamese producers eager to break into the world’s largest consumer market.
