In 2022, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority will supervise wooden packaging in selected import consignments.
 

The aim of audit is guaranteed that there are no serious plant pests, that the wooden packaging has been bebarked and marked in accordance with the international standard ISPM 15.

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority will prioritize control of wooden packaging that accompanies goods from China, Portugal, the USA, South Korea, Japan and Italy. Especially attention to the import of the following product groups: stone (paving stones, curbs, slabs, building stones, tiles, wire/pipes/nails of iron or steel, mechanical appliances, hand tools, tractors and parts for motor vehicles). 

The Norwegian Food Safety Authority will prioritize control of those countries above - mentioned, it however does not mean they will not control from another countries. The Vietnamese enterprises are doing business to Norway which using wooden packaging should be take note and follow the international regulation, especially ISPM 15.
