According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, our country's footwear export turnover to EVFTA partners in August 2022 reached US$515.2 million, down 4.2% compared to July/July. 2022 but increased by 275.8% over the same period last year. Generally, in the first eight months of 2022, footwear exports to EVFTA partners reached 3,971.7 million USD, up 37.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 23.6% of the total footwear export turnover of the whole country.

1. Export turnover

2. Item structure

In August 2022, the export value of men's imitation leather boots to EVFTA partners reached the largest turnover with 236.8 million USD, down 0.3% compared to July 2022 but up 477.1% compared to July 2022. with the same year. In the first eight months of 2022, the export turnover of this type of footwear reached US$1,829.2 million, up 40.7% over the same period last year, accounting for 46% of our country's total footwear export turnover to the EVFTA.

Next is the export of women's leather boots with high heels reaching 116 million USD, down 26.3% compared to July 2022 but up 189.5% over the same period in 2021. Generally, in the first eight months of 2022, exports of this type reached USD 1,051.3 million, up 32.2% over the same period last year, accounting for 26.5% of the total export turnover of our country's footwear to EVFTA

Third, canvas shoes reached 123.3 million USD, up 6.4% compared to July 2022 and up 173.1 % over the same period last year. In general, in the first eight months of 2022, the export of this category reached US$867 million, up 40.1% over the same period in 2021.

In addition, a number of export categories in the first 8 months of 2022 increased strongly such as: Leatherette sandals; Men's leather high-heeled shoes; Women's leather shoes; Timberland shoes; Nike sports shoes; Women's sandals with cotton toe; Women's shoes (cow leather upper, Caprice brand); EVA footwear; Men's sports shoes with calfskin uppers; Foam slippers; Work shoes grade 1 with an increase of 56.9%, respectively; 143%; 27.9%; 80.2%; 163.7%; 73.2%; 209.6 %; 59.1%; 100.7%; 724.1%; 505.3%.

In the opposite trend, a number of categories saw a sharp decrease compared to the same period last year such as: Sports shoes, synthetic fabrics; Women's sports shoes with toes of many materials; Women's imitation leather shoes; Fabric shoes (cloth hat, leather sole, 100% new) with a decrease of 21.4% respectively; 25.6%; 32.4%; 60.3%.

 3. Market structure

According to preliminary statistics of the General Department of Customs, our country's footwear export turnover to EVFTA partners in August 2022 reached US$515.2 million, down 4.2% compared to July/July. 2022 but increased by 275.8% over the same period last year. Generally, in the first eight months of 2022, footwear exports to EVFTA partners reached US$3,971.7 million, up 37.7% over the same period last year.

In which, exports to the Belgian market reached 125.8 million USD, down 9.5% over the previous month but up 218.2% over the same period in 2021. Generally, in the first eight months of 2022, footwear exports from our country to this market reached 1,075.4 million USD, up 35.2 over the same period last year.

Next is exports to the German market, reaching 108.7 million USD, down 12.1% compared to the previous month but up 554.7% over the same period in 2021. In the first eight months of 2022, our country's footwear exports to this market reached $880.8 million, up 45.4% over the same period in 2021.

The third is exports to the Netherlands market reaching US$ 98.3 million, up 7.2% over the previous month but up 238.9% over the same period in 2021. In the first eight months of 2022, the country's footwear exports to this market reached 700.2 million USD, up 34.9% over the same period last year.

In addition, our country's footwear exports to some markets in the EVFTA increased sharply, such as France; Italy; Spain; Switzerland; Luxembourg; Poland; Denmark; Greek; Austria with an increase of 30.5% respectively; 40.4%; 37.6%; 33.9%; 59.5%; 17.9%; 182.9%; 23.6%; 39.8%.

In the opposite trend, our country's footwear exports to some markets in the EVFTA have a decrease such as Finland; Slovakia with a decrease of 57.4% respectively; 29.5%.
