The information was announced at the seminar “Vietnam International Sourcing – Export Market Diversification”, organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) in Ho Chi Minh City on 1 August. According to Mr. Ta Hoang Linh, Director General of the Foreign Market Development Department (MOIT), the visit of international buyers is part of the Viet Nam International Sourcing – International Supply Chain Connectivity series, scheduled to take place from 4 to 6 September 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).
Mr. Linh noted that excessive reliance on a limited number of traditional export markets exposes businesses to significant risks amid increasingly unpredictable global economic conditions. Export market diversification has therefore become an urgent requirement rather than an option. Viet Nam International Sourcing and the 2025 Export Forum are designed to directly support enterprises in addressing this strategic need.
The 2025 programme will mobilise the coordinated participation of more than 60 Vietnamese Trade Offices and branches worldwide, with the aim of facilitating the arrival of over 300 international buying delegations to Viet Nam. Buyers will have the opportunity to explore more than 12,000 products across four major product groups showcased at around 500 booths by over 400 Vietnamese enterprises. Exhibited products will range from agricultural produce, beverages and processed foods to consumer industrial goods such as textiles and garments, footwear, wooden furniture, interior products and packaging, as well as supporting industries and personal electronic equipment.
From the domestic perspective, the event represents a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to engage directly in B2B matchmaking with major international distributors, retail groups and global sourcing companies. Thousands of direct B2B meetings between Vietnamese suppliers and international buyers, including major domestic and cross-border e-commerce platforms, are expected to take place during the event, opening up cooperation and business opportunities across a wide range of sectors.
In addition to buyers from traditional markets such as the United States, the European Union, Japan and the Republic of Korea, this year’s programme is expected to attract strong participation from emerging and high-potential regions including the Middle East, Latin America and Eastern Europe. This reflects both the growing appeal of Vietnamese products and the positive response from international partners to Viet Nam’s targeted trade promotion efforts.
A notable highlight of the 2025 edition is the combined organisation of Viet Nam International Sourcing, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Forum 2025 and the International Travel Expo Ho Chi Minh City (ITE HCMC). According to Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, this integrated approach goes beyond sourcing goods to include the search for tourism partners. In the context of the city’s expanding range of tourism products encompassing urban, forest and coastal experiences, the programme provides an effective platform to introduce and promote Ho Chi Minh City’s tourism offerings to international partners.
With its expanding scale and cross-sectoral approach, Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 is expected to continue serving as a key platform for supporting Vietnamese enterprises in integrating more deeply into global supply chains, diversifying export markets and enhancing competitiveness in the period ahead.
