H&M to Explore Vietnamese Suppliers at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025

13/09/2025

The participation of H&M Group at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 marks a significant milestone, signalling the growing appeal of Việt Nam as a strategic sourcing destination for global retailers—particularly those from Northern Europe with strong commitments to sustainability, transparency, and responsible supply chains.

According to the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden, this year’s Nordic business delegation includes major brands and corporations in retail, consumer goods, logistics, and sustainable manufacturing from Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Norway. Among them, the presence of H&M—one of the world’s largest fashion groups—stands out as a highlight, opening new opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises in apparel, textiles, and sustainable supply-chain solutions.

Expanding Cooperation with a Global Retail Giant

H&M has been strengthening its footprint in Southeast Asia and views Việt Nam as an increasingly strategic market thanks to its stable investment environment, competitive labour force, and improving manufacturing capabilities. The group is also planning to expand its retail network in Việt Nam to more than 20 stores in the near future, while actively seeking additional local suppliers for its global operations.

The participation of H&M at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 reflects the company’s recognition of Việt Nam’s growing capability to meet stringent European requirements on product quality, sustainable sourcing, and production standards. It also presents a valuable opportunity for Vietnamese manufacturers to gain direct access to modern procurement systems and high-level technical requirements from major international buyers.

Strengthening Việt Nam’s Position in Sustainable Supply Chains

Known as a pioneer in building environmentally responsible and socially accountable supply chains, H&M places strong emphasis on emissions reduction, transparency, and circularity in its sourcing activities. Its engagement in Việt Nam demonstrates increasing confidence in the country’s ability to transition toward greener production models and reinforce compliance with international sustainability benchmarks.

A representative of the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden affirmed:
“H&M’s participation in Viet Nam International Sourcing demonstrates the event’s credibility and underscores the rising position of Vietnamese enterprises in global value chains.”

Việt Nam Emerging as a Preferred Destination for Nordic Investors

Việt Nam has become a magnet for Nordic businesses seeking production diversification, competitive costs, and an advantageous geographic position within the Indo-Pacific region. The EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has also significantly boosted the country’s attractiveness by reducing tariffs and facilitating smoother trade flows from Việt Nam to European markets.

Interest from Nordic companies continues to accelerate. In March, less than one week after the visit of the Swedish Parliament’s Committee on Foreign Affairs to Việt Nam, nearly 30 Swedish enterprises travelled to the country to explore investment and business cooperation opportunities—highlighting a strong momentum of engagement between Việt Nam and Northern Europe.
