H&M to Join Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025: A Strong Signal for Fashion Supply Chain Cooperation

07/10/2025

Global fashion group H&M has confirmed that it will send a high-level sourcing delegation to Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025, an event co-organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Viet Nam (MOIT) and the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee. The event will take place from 4–6 September 2025 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC).

According to the Foreign Market Development Agency under MOIT, this marks the first time H&M will participate in the programme, signaling a growing interest among Nordic corporations in developing long-term, sustainable supply chains in Viet Nam. The group’s participation is considered a significant milestone, reflecting the broader trend of global buyers shifting sourcing activities toward the Vietnamese market.

Information from the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden shows that the Nordic business delegation to Viet Nam this year is being organized on a larger scale, comprising leading companies in retail, consumer goods, logistics, and sustainable manufacturing. The involvement of H&M—one of the world’s largest fashion brands—stands out as a major highlight, creating substantial opportunities for Vietnamese manufacturers in fashion, textiles, apparel, and supporting industries.

In recent working sessions between H&M and the Ambassador of Viet Nam to Sweden together with the Viet Nam Trade Office, the group expressed strong interest in expanding its supplier network in Viet Nam, particularly in categories that meet rigorous requirements on sustainability, transparency, and social responsibility. These exchanges lay important groundwork for enhanced cooperation between Vietnamese companies and the Nordic market—known for its advanced standards in sustainable supply chain management.

In previous years, the Viet Nam Trade Office in Sweden also facilitated the participation of Nordic enterprises such as IKEA, Port of Gothenburg, F&H, and Scanesia at Viet Nam International Sourcing. These delegations conducted factory visits, engaged in B2B networking activities, and subsequently established several cooperation agreements with Vietnamese partners.

With a global operational footprint and a leadership role in green supply chain development, H&M prioritizes suppliers capable of meeting stringent environmental and social compliance standards. Its participation at Viet Nam International Sourcing 2025 not only creates direct business opportunities for Vietnamese exporters but also enhances the international image and competitiveness of Viet Nam’s manufacturing sector.

The 2025 edition of Viet Nam International Sourcing is expected to feature more than 500 exhibiting companies and approximately 300 international buyer delegations from Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia. Key product groups include food and beverages, consumer goods, furniture and home décor, fashion and textiles, raw materials, and supporting industries. The programme will also include thematic conferences on export standards, green transition, global logistics, and brand development, along with B2B sessions and industrial site visits.

A representative of the Foreign Market Development Agency emphasized that H&M’s participation demonstrates the capacity of Vietnamese suppliers to meet high-level requirements from European partners. The event represents a critical opportunity for domestic enterprises to access major global sourcing networks, strengthen their role in international value chains, and elevate Viet Nam’s position in high-value export sectors—particularly fashion and textiles, which are undergoing rapid transformation toward sustainability.
