Dak Lak Hosts Foreign Business Delegation to Source Products from the Central Highlands
On 15 December 2025, in Buon Ma Thuot Ward, the Department of Industry and Trade of Dak Lak Province, in coordination with the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade, organized a program welcoming a delegation of foreign enterprises to Vietnam to conduct sourcing and purchasing transactions for products from the Central Highlands. The event was implemented under Vietnam’s National Trade Promotion Program for 2025, aiming to strengthen market access, expand export opportunities, and enhance direct business linkages between local suppliers and international importers.
The program was attended by Mr. Dao My, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial People’s Committee, along with leaders of provincial departments and agencies. Representatives from the Departments of Industry and Trade and trade promotion centers of several localities—including Gia Lai, Lam Dong, and Quang Ngai—also participated. Nearly 150 delegates from agencies, organizations, associations, enterprises, and cooperatives joined the event, including approximately 20 foreign companies from Australia, the Republic of Korea, China, and Singapore.
In the opening remarks, a representative of the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade highlighted the Central Highlands’ strategic importance in socio-economic development, politics, and national defense and security, as well as its role as a key connector between the South Central Coast, the Southeast region, and neighboring countries such as Laos and Cambodia. The region has formed large-scale production areas for major agricultural commodities, contributing significantly to Vietnam’s export structure. Many Central Highlands products—such as coffee, pepper, cashew nuts, rubber, passion fruit, and durian—are among the world’s leading products in terms of output and export value.
At the event, eligible producers, processors, collectors, and distributors from the Central Highlands showcased and introduced a wide range of distinctive products with strong export potential. Displayed items included OCOP-certified products, outstanding rural industrial products, and other provincial and regional specialties. Products were selected to meet requirements on quality, food safety and hygiene, labeling, and traceability of origin in accordance with relevant standards.
A key component of the program was direct business matching (B2B), enabling foreign buyers and Vietnamese enterprises to exchange information, discuss production and supply capabilities, and explore cooperation opportunities for broader export market expansion. Within the framework of the event, local enterprises and foreign companies established partnerships and signed six cooperation agreements relating to production, supply, and distribution.
According to the Dak Lak Department of Industry and Trade, the program is intended to create practical conditions for Central Highlands enterprises to expand export markets, identify suitable partners, and connect directly with international importers. It also helps promote high-quality regional products, establish sales channels, facilitate contract negotiations, and ultimately boost Vietnam’s exports to foreign markets.
