"Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand 2022", co-organized and implemented by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam and Central Retail Group in Vietnam was officially launched on November 16, 2022 and lasted continuously until November 20, 2022 at Central World Plaza, one of the largest trade centers in the world. This year's Vietnam Week in Thailand event was held at the same time of the 2022 APEC Summit (in Bangkok) and was honored to welcome President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to the opening ceremony and the ribbon-cutting on November 17th.

The event was participated by Thailand Deputy Minister of Commerce Sinit Lertkrai, Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai and Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh. The presence of leaders affirmed the good diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two governments and peoples in various areas such as economics, trade, investment and culture exchanges, etc.

This is the fifth time to organize Vietnam Goods Week in Thailand and it has significant meaning since its timing coincides with the Annual APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (taking place on November 18 and 19 in Bangkok). With the theme "Taste of Vietnam", this year Vietnam Week in Thailand has continued the purpose of the previous 4 events in joining hands to promote cultural beauty, attractive destinations and best products to Thailand and other international markets.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Vietnam's Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai said: "In recent years, the Vietnamese government has created favorable conditions for businesses to promote direct exports to distribution networks in many countries, including Thailand. Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand is an important annual event within this framework”.

“Since the first Vietnamese Goods Week in 2016, the event has connected more than 400 SMEs to promote local products to the Thailand market. On that basis, we expect that Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand 2022 will continue to be a great opportunity for Vietnamese businesses to expand the domestic market as well as export directly through the Central Retail Group.”

Ms. Jariya Chirathivat, Executive Vice President, Business Development of Central Group and Chairwoman of Central Retail Vietnam remarked: “Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand is a significant annual event for Central Retail Vietnam. This year, besides promoting special products from Vietnam, the event is created under the inspiration of our “Go! Mall” concept, a member of Central Retail in Vietnam, with 39 active malls across the country. This concept introduces a remarkable shopping mall model that has been working well in Vietnam.”

Vietnam Goods Week 2022 has attracted more than 80 businesses to participate in exhibitions and trade connections; thereby, showcasing the best Vietnamese products that are carefully selected with distinctive features such as products with highlight innovation, natural, health-focused products, organic farming, efficient management with blockchain technology, OCOP Elite product lines and flagship products under the national program, and the circular economy.

To increase export opportunities for Vietnamese products to Thailand, the organising committee allocated prime areas at three main halls of CentralWorld for Vietnamese Week in Thailand 2022, covering nearly 1,000 sqm with the total of 45 eye-catching booths.

In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to explore tourism, culture and specialties including highland farm products and seafood from two special destinations: Lao Cai – the mountainous Northwest border and Ca Mau – the Southernmost land of Vietnam. The five-day event is expected to welcome 500,000 visitors.

As part of Vietnamese Week in Thailand 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam is collaborating with Central Retail Vietnam to hold a business-matching conference to connect nearly 80 Vietnamese businesses with Central Group in Thailand’s retail affiliates and Thai importers. The Conference will enable Vietnamese businesses to showcase their best products and establish connections with Thai partners.

Central Group in Thailand also strives to assist Vietnamese companies in exploring opportunities to expand their business in the Thai market through its distribution channels and business initiatives.
