Two-way trade between Vietnam and the EU achieved positive growth results
On June 2, 2023, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien received and worked with Mr. Giorgio Aliberti, Ambassador, Head of the European Union Delegation to Vietnam to say goodbye first. at the end of the working term.
Sharing at the meeting, the Minister highly appreciated the valuable support and positive contributions of the Ambassador as a bridge to actively promote the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and the European Union (EU), especially the process of promoting ratification and implementation of the EVFTA Agreement, creating an important turning point and new momentum in economic and trade cooperation between the two Parties.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the EU Delegation have coordinated very closely and effectively in many cooperation activities such as: implementing the EVFTA Agreement and conducting technical & financial support programs and projects, typically situation in the energy sector, sustainable energy transition in Vietnam, contributing to the overall development of the Industry and Trade sector. The two sides also expressed optimism when witnessing two-way trade exchange between Vietnam and the EU in recent years achieving positive and especially remarkable growth results in the context of unstable market areas and supply chains. response and trade face many difficulties.
Ambassador Giorgio Aliberti affirmed his appreciation for the rapid and effective developments in bilateral economic and trade relations and emphasized the importance of energy cooperation, typically the Vietnam Sustainable Energy Transition Program. (SETP) and promote the implementation of the Fair Energy Transition Partnership (JETP).
Discussing cooperation in the energy field, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien highly appreciated the role of the EU in actively supporting Vietnam's energy development plan, helping to orient practical action programs. to maximize resources from international organizations and partners for the sustainable development of Vietnam's energy industry and energy transition process, contributing to the effective implementation of Vietnam's commitments in COP26.
The Minister commented that the full, substantive and effective implementation of the JETP agreement will be one of the important solutions for the energy transition process in Vietnam and requested the EU side to develop specific funding packages. To support Vietnam in implementing energy transition effectively, it is necessary to focus on cooperation contents such as: policy consulting; human resource training; Support Vietnamese businesses to receive new technology, master technology, and the production process of equipment to serve the energy transition process, including electrical equipment, and produce new, cleaner fuels for energy conversion processes such as hydrogen, green ammonia, building smart grids./.
