The EU exempts certain drinks and food from border checks

On 1 September 2023, the European Commission published Delegated Regulation No. 2023⁄1674 of 19 June 2023, amending Delegated Regulation (EU) 2021⁄630 relating to certain spreads and beverage preparations containing cocoa, certain foods prepared from cereals or cereal products, certain prepared foods made from rice and other cereals, certain types of potatoes French fries and crisps and some sauces and seasonings are in the category of general products exempt from main control.
Accordingly, the EU stipulates mandatory inspection at border gates for many items of meat, milk, pasta, vegetables.... These products are regulated in Article 2 of the Authorization Regulation.

However, some products may be exempt from inspection if they meet the conditions in Article 3(1), point (a), of Regulation (EU) 2021/630 including cakes, confectionery, cereals roasted, extracted, coffee essence, tea, miso soup... Products exempt from inspection are specified in the Appendix.
This regulation takes effect from September 21, 2023.
