Seminar on "Improving the competitiveness of Vietnamese logistics activities with the US market"
Vietnam is currently the 7th largest trading partner of the United States and the United States is the 2nd largest trading partner of Vietnam. The report of the Vietnam Trade Office in the United States shows that in 2022, Vietnam's total export turnover of goods to the United States will reach 109.38 billion USD, being the first export market to reach the 100 billion mark, an increase of 13,000 USD. 6% accounts for 29.5% of Vietnam's total export turnover.
However, besides the expectations, trade cooperation with the US market is assessed to have parallel challenges because Vietnamese businesses when doing business with this country must face the consequences. due to the impact of inflationary pressures and economic recession risks of major economies, leading to a decline in export orders. Besides, this country also introduces barriers, such as trade barriers, technical barriers, and food hygiene and safety standards. And these challenges not only affect export businesses, but logistics businesses are also under similar pressure.

Meanwhile, currently, the number of domestic logistics enterprises, although accounting for about 89%, only accounts for about 30% of the market share, the rest belongs to foreign enterprises, Vietnamese enterprises are mainly small scale, limited. capital, human resources as well as international operating experience, there is no connection between stages in the supply chain between logistics service enterprises and export and import enterprises.
To clarify the difficulties and challenges in the field of Logistics with the US market, the Department of Europe - America Market, Ministry of Industry and Trade organized an online discussion program with the topic "Increasing the competitiveness of Vietnamese logistics activities with the US market".
At this discussion, experts and businesses will discuss ways for Vietnamese logistics service businesses to improve their competitiveness in logistics activities with the US market; At the same time, provide recommendations from authorities for businesses in the industry to proactively build systematic development strategies and gradually expand the scope and scale of operations.
