Overview of Viet Nam's import of chemicals from partners in EVFTA
In August 2022, chemical imports from the EU decreased slightly, with a value of more than 37.8 million USD, down 7.8% from the previous month but increasing by 131.2% over the same period in 2021. In the first eight months of 2022, chemical imports from the EU reached more than 265.9 million USD, up 114.1 % over the same period last year.

Structure of the chemical market imported from the EU
In August 2022, Germany is the largest chemical import market of Vietnam in the EU, with a value of more than US$22.1 million, down 17.8% from the previous month, accounting for 58.6 % of total chemical import value in August. Accumulating eight months of 2022, chemical imports from the German market reached more than 149.9 million USD, up 350.1% over the same period last year. The Dutch market ranked second with a value of more than 3.92 million USD, up 17.9% over the previous month, accounting for 10.4% of the total chemical import value in August. Accumulated for eight months. In 2022, chemical imports from the Netherlands market reached more than 33 million USD, up 38.0% over the same period in 2021. The Belgian market ranked third with a value of more than 3.91 million USD, an increase of 8. 1% over the previous month, accounting for 10.3% of the total import value of chemicals in August. Accumulated in the first eight months of 2022, chemical imports from the Belgian market reached more than USD 28.2 million, up 32 .1% over the same period in 2021. Italy ranked 4th with a value of more than 2.9 million USD, down 7.9% over the previous month, accounting for 7.8% of the total import value of chemicals in August. In the eight months of 2022, chemical imports from the Italian market reached $21.1 million, up 43.3% over the same period in 2021.

Structure of chemical products imported from the EU
- Goods of heading 2905- Open-chain alcohol
In August, commodity group 2905- Imported open-chain alcohol reached more than USD 553.1 thousand, up 9.8% over the previous month; decreased by 12,21.5 compared to the same period in 2021. In the eight months of 2022, imports of product group 2905-Open-chain alcohol reached more than USD 14.4 million, up 58.9% over the same period last year.
Regarding the EU market, in August, 2905-Open-chain wine was mainly imported from Belgium, with a value of more than 516.1 thousand USD, up 48.1% over the previous month. In the first eight months of 2022, imports of product group 2905-Open-chain liquor from the Belgian market reached more than US$3.4 million, an increase of 118.5% over the same period in 2021. The second place was the French market, with a value of the price reached more than 20 thousand USD. In the eight months of 2022, imports of product group 2905-Open-chain liquor from the French market reached more than 60 thousand USD, down 73.7% compared to the same period in 2021. Next was the Dutch market but in low proportion.

In August, items in group 2836 imported over 3 million USD, up 58.2% over the previous month and 81.8% over the same period in 2021. Accumulated for eight months in 2022, the import value of chemicals in group 2836 reached more than USD 16.9 million, up 18.3% over the same period in 2021.
Regarding the EU market, in August, items belonging to group 2836 were imported the most from Italy, with a value of more than 1.5 million USD, up 35.1% over the previous month. Accumulated in the first eight months of 2022, imports of items of group 2836 from the Italian market reached more than US$8.5 million, up 131.5% over the same period in 2021. Belgium ranked second with a value of more than $924.1 thousand, up 474.2% over the previous month. In the seven-eighth month of 2022, imports of goods of group 2836 from the Belgian market reached more than 2.3 million USD, down 39.3% compared to the same period in 2021. The third place was the Bulgarian market, with a value of more than USD 273.3 thousand, down 51.8% compared to the previous month. In the first eight months of 2022, imports of goods belonging to group 2836 from the Bulgarian market reached more than US$4.4 million, down 22.2% over the same period in 2021. The fourth place was the German market with a value of nearly US$4. 176.6 thousand USD, up 160.1% compared to the previous month. In August, imports of chemicals in group 2842 increased significantly, reaching nearly 59,000 USD, up 18.1% over the previous month, and up 63.8% over the same period last year. In the eight months of 2022, the import value of chemicals in group 2842 reached more than US$4.4 million, down 39.7% over the same period in 2021.
Regarding the EU market, in August, chemicals of heading 2842 were imported from the Dutch and German markets, with the value of imports from the Dutch market reaching nearly $44.1 thousand, down 3. 5% over the previous month. In the first eight months of 2022, imports of items heading 2842 from the Netherlands market reached 190.2 thousand USD, up 47.7% over the same period in 2021. Next is the German market, with import value. got more than 14.8 thousand USD. In the first eight months of 2022, imports of items of group 2842 from the German market reached more than 4.1 million USD, down 42.2% over the same period in 2021.

Accumulated for eight months in 2022, imports of chemicals in group 2933 reached more than USD 4.4 million, down 15.8% over the same period last year.
Regarding the EU market, in August, chemicals belonging to group 2933 were imported the most from Germany, with a value of nearly 237.8 thousand USD, up 73.4% over the previous month. Accumulated in the first eight months of 2022, imports of goods of group 2933 from the German market reached more than US$941.7 thousand, down 56.8% over the same period in 2021.
