Attending the live and online event was Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien, Representatives of People's Committees of provinces/cities, the Ambassador - Head of the EU Delegation to Vietnam, and Diplomatic Representatives of member countries. EU member in Vietnam, Leader of EuroCham, Vietnam Trade Offices in Europe, industry associations, domestic and international experts, and hundreds of Vietnamese and European businesses and investors.

The forum focused on discussing and assessing the effects of market fluctuations, warning about risks arising to commodity exports and commercial transactions, as well as a practical assessment of the two-year implementation of the Agreement. EVFTA, the favorable factors and challenges posed in the coming time, and at the same time recommend many practical and timely solutions for businesses. The event also provides a channel for exchanging information and views in a comprehensive and multi-dimensional way under many authentic perspectives of experts, forecasting growth scenarios, and prospects for expanding cooperation in the two fields. Parties of mutual interest, such as green economy, circular economy, energy transition, and cooperation for sustainable development. These are areas of strength and priority for development in EU policy and are also in line with Vietnam's strategic directions for economic and social development.

Speaking at the conference, Minister Nguyen Hong Dien especially noted the positive results in trade and investment exchanges between the two sides after two years of EVFTA coming into effect despite the economic, trade, and chain contexts. The supply chain faces many difficulties due to the pandemic and regional and global geopolitical uncertainties. The Vietnamese government is very interested in supporting the market expansion and strengthening the comprehensive partnership with the EU as well as its member countries, creating a great premise to promote bilateral cooperation activities in the near future. future, not only limited to trade but also expanded to many other areas of economic cooperation.

The Minister of Industry and Trade emphasized that, with great advantages from the EVFTA Agreement and the coming EVIPA, Vietnam will have many favorable conditions in attracting investment capital, technology transfer, and supporting projects from the side. EU partners to promote the economic structure towards green and sustainability, including the use of clean energy, renewable energy, high-tech transformation in production, helping Vietnamese goods meet technical and environmental standards of the EU, deeper participation in a sustainable complete supply chain, and mutual benefit with the EU.

Exchange of views at the Forum, domestic and international experts highly appreciated the potential of the Vietnamese market, as well as the prospect of developing economic and trade relations between Vietnam and the EU in the coming time; At the same time, it also pointed out many existing limitations and challenges from both the internal capacity to market context, especially when the international situation is forecasted to continue to be complicated, unpredictable and potential. The risk of recession, high inflation, and food and energy security are increasingly urgent. Vietnam is actively developing and implementing appropriate and flexible adaptation orientations and solutions to the new situation; unleashing all resources for economic recovery and development; supply chain diversification; focusing on green transformation, and energy transformation, and at the same time stabilizing the business investment environment towards the goal of green growth and sustainable development. Ta Hoang Linh, Director General of the European-American Market Department, emphasized that the Ministry of Industry and Trade will maximize the system of Vietnamese Trade Offices in the EU to actively support businesses of the two sides to access the market and take advantage of the market of the EVFTA Agreement to promote trade, connect investment, accompany the business community to join hands to build a diversified and sustainable supply chain.

For the field of green and energy transformation in Vietnam, EuroCham President Alain Cany said that the European side encourages the development of green and renewable energy sources in Vietnam. The road to carbon reduction requires appropriate funding at all economic levels. The implementation of green finance policies and regulations for Vietnamese financial institutions will help businesses manage risks, and ensure long-term and quality business and investment activities before the world landscape is changing rapidly. At the same time, EuroCham noted that in order to take full advantage of the FTAs that Vietnam has signed, Vietnamese businesses need to comply with strict environmental standards and meet the tastes of green and sustainable consumption. European.

At the discussion session, representatives of Vietnamese and European businesses also shared many lessons learned and good practices in production, business, and development orientation associated with green, clean, and sustainable criteria. . This is also an inevitable global trend and a mandatory path for businesses to deeply participate in new value chains.
