Specifically, over the past 8 years, Vietnam-Spain bilateral trade has maintained good growth momentum and the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) taking effect from August 2020 has created new momentum. , promoting trade turnover between the two sides when almost 100% of import and export tax lines are reduced to 0% according to a 7-10 year roadmap.
In addition, the strategic location of the two countries at the gateway to important economic regions of Asia and Europe helps the two countries become a bridge between the two most dynamic economic regions of the world.

Export products maintaining high growth momentum include: Rice (217.1%), rubber products (54.6%), tourism goods (75.4%), textiles and garments (39.2 %), footwear of all kinds (47.6%), means of transport-parts (21.8%), and toys-sports equipment-parts (145.9%).
Despite maintaining a high trade surplus, the Vietnam Trade Office in Spain also commented that in the first months of this year, Vietnam's exports to the Spanish market have been facing more difficulties than before. before.
The main reason is due to internal difficulties of the market and increasingly fierce competition. Many key export categories of Vietnam are under increasing competitive pressure from Latin American countries, especially for seafood, vegetables, coffee, textiles, footwear, wood and other products. wood products.
The report of the Trade Office also clearly points out that in recent years, export turnover will normally accelerate in the second half of the year from June and July onwards, so there is still opportunity for Vietnamese enterprises to accelerate development. expand into this market.
