Large importers visit Vietnam looking for suppliers

The series of events "Connecting the international supply chain of goods" (Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023) is hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and held from September 13 - 15, 2023 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City with the expectation of effectively supporting businesses in their efforts to participate more deeply in the global production and supply chain, adapt to the trend of increasingly deep international economic integration, as well as promote Connecting distribution channels and foreign importers with domestic manufacturing and exporting enterprises.

Vietnam - a strategic location in the global supply chain

The series of events is an activity to actively implement the Project "Promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution networks until 2030" approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 1415/QD- TTg on November 14, 2022. The Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned the European - American Market Department to be the focal point to coordinate with the Asian - African Market Department and relevant agencies and units to implement organizational work.

The event took place in the context that in recent years, Vietnam has been transforming strongly to become a major global manufacturing center with the ability to supply the world market with many diverse and abundant products. Rich in variety, competitive in price and with ever-improving quality. At the same time, after the COVID-19 pandemic and recent geopolitical-economic instability, many corporations, retail and wholesale distribution channels are promoting diversification strategies, ensuring sustainable supply and have chosen Vietnam as a strategic location in their global supply chain.

The series of events includes conferences, seminars, trade connection activities and the International Goods Supply Chain Connection Exhibition - Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023. The exhibition has a scale of 8,000 m2 for 300 businesses, representing different sectors in the international supply chain.

Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023 is professionally prepared, in which the businesses selected to introduce to importers, distribution groups and international purchasing groups are all businesses that have achieved international certificates and have high quality products in Vietnamese industries. has strengths and needs international distributors and retailers such as: Food, textiles, footwear, backpacks, bags, sports and picnic goods, household appliances and furniture, industrial products support industry...

The event promises to attract 8,000 visitors and transactions with 150 international delegations from 30 countries and territories. The organizing committee also coordinated with localities to send purchasing teams to survey businesses in some localities.

In particular, the series of events recorded the unprecedented participation of more than 60 Vietnamese Trade Offices/branches abroad. According to the early implementation plan, Trade Departments and Trade Office branches have widely promoted Vietnam International Sourcing 2023 to importers, distribution channels, and foreign business associations to invite purchasing delegations. International participants participate in a variety of forms, suitable for the host country (direct or electronic communication, through trade promotion channels, networking...).


With the coordination of the European - American Market Department and the Asia - African Market Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam Trade Offices and branches abroad have proactively and actively sought, contact, work to mobilize, and invite purchasing delegations, import businesses, and distribution businesses from the host country to Vietnam to participate in the series of exhibition and seminar activities mentioned above.

This year's event also recorded unprecedented participation from large corporations around the world. It is expected that during the three days of Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023, 10 thematic seminars and business forums, useful trade connections will be held throughout, with the presence of large corporations such as Aeon, Uniqlo (Japan); Walmart, Amazon, Boeing, AES (USA), Carrefour, Decathlon (France); Central Group (Thailand); Coppel (Mexico)…

In addition to aiming to promote exports, Vietnam International Sourcing Expo 2023 also has additional sideline activities to support businesses in improving their capacity and developing sustainably when entering the global market. Leading experts from Europe will provide online training for businesses attending the exhibition on August 15, 2023 and direct consulting activities at SECC Center on September 12, 2023 to prepare. allowing businesses to make the most of networking opportunities right before the event begins.
