Coffee exports to Italy increased sharply in January 2023
According to the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Market Bulletin (Ministry of Industry and Trade) issued on February 20, 2022, in January 2023, Vietnam's coffee exports to the Italian market reached 17.27 thousand tons, worth 35 million euros. .71 million USD, up 78.9% in volume and up 81.5% in value compared to December 2022, up 30.5% in volume and 27.1% in value compared to January 2022.
In January, Vietnam's average coffee export price to the Itay market reached 2,067 USD/ton, up 1.4% compared to December 2022, but down 2.6% compared to January 2022.

Regarding types, in 2022, Vietnam will export Robusta, Arabica and processed coffee types to the Italian market.
Of which, Robusta coffee exports in 2022 will reach 135,610 tons, worth 277.85 million USD, an increase of 8.0% in volume and an increase of 28.7% in value compared to 2021; Arabica coffee reached 3,330 tons, worth 14.38 million USD, up 110.5% in volume and 227.9% in value. In contrast, Vietnam's processed coffee exports to Italy decreased by 12% compared to 2021, reaching 3.37 million USD.
According to data from the European Statistics Agency, in the first 11 months of 2022, Italy imported coffee from the world reaching 653,410 tons, worth 2.28 billion EUR (2.43 billion USD), an increase of 10.5% in terms of quantity and increased 69.7% in value compared to the same period in 2021.
Italy's coffee imports from Vietnam in the first 11 months of 2022 increased by 16.4% and increased by 80.4% in value compared to the same period in 2021, reaching 139,560n tons, worth 324.22 million EUR (345 million USD). .36 million USD).
Vietnam's coffee market shares in Italy's total imports from the world increased from 20.28% in 11 months of 2021 to 21.36% market share in 11 months of 2022.
